So the music and sound effects weren't too loud? I'm asking because in a lot the promotional videos FUNimation released on Youtube, the music and sound effects would overpower the voices at times and I was worried it would be like that in the movie, too.

I love Kuroshitsuji but the one character I absolutely couldn't stand was Lizzy, whose character and voice (the original Japanese one...I never watched the dubs) I found extremely grating. She was a whiny, spoiled, one dimensional brat and I was so happy when she mostly disappeared during the second season and OVA. I was really excited when I heard news about this movie but then when I saw the posters and realized Lizzy was prominently featured, my excitement almost completely vanished. I really want to support the series though, so I guess I'm still going to go watch the movie. Just wish her role was reduced, not expanded.

Anime Lizzy and manga Lizzy are essentially two different people. Cut out everything from the original anime except episodes 1-6, 13-15 and you get maybe one episode of her being a brat. She barely has a presence in Book of Circus and Book of Murder and this film is the first arc her character's featured prominently. Take it with an open mind and I promise you'll be rewarded for it.

It's a shame that the animation is of low qulity. While this isn't my favourite Black Butler story arc, I might have checked it out to see all the characters animated to feature film standards.

The movie will change your mind on Lizzy, for sure.

I'll have to agree. My opinion of Lizzy was greatly improved by this movie.
While I agree that the animation quality isn't what you would expect from a movie budget and not all that different from the TV series, I thought there was some nice bits here and there, in particular one character showing off their skill with the sword. It was definitely too dark in several places, though being in a dark theater may have exacerbated that.
Unfortunately I missed the first few minutes since I accidently ended up in the wrong theater (in the multiplex not like the wrong address) , a deficit it doesn't seem like I will be able rectify soon. Oh well.

Yeah, I saw this today and the animation could have been much better. The fight scenes came off pretty good, but a lot of the background activity was less than impressive. Still, the story was excellent with certain characters getting unexpected development, which was very appreciated. I walked away from the movie smiling.
The subtitled showing I attended was almost full. I had no idea so many people in my area were "Black Butler" fans. Hopefully, the theatrical run turns out to be profitable for Funimation. I love seeing anime on the big screen.

Same here! I've been having a blast checking out all these movies at the theater and meeting new anime fans...keep the movies coming Funimation! I went to the subtitled showing last night, and as a Black Butler fan I was happy. Not quite packed, but still a pretty full theater, and several cos players (one of whom did an EXCELLENT Sebastian!) I also gotta agree that the animation could have had a higher budget, but it was no better or worse than the TV series so it didn't bother me all that much. Lizzie was...amazing...and I didn't care much for her before (I'm actually considering reading the manga now to find out more!).
