Netflix has the Eng dub as well Razz since i did not see ann say this. Anyway the dub flaps did not mix well with the mouths and made it hard to watch or at least for me Razz

Is the English release going to go off of the Netflix version, which cut down a few of the scenes with Nami and in general had a pretty awful translation (it was dubtitled)? If so, that's going to hurt the odds of me recommending a great movie to people, because it screws up the tone a bit, hurts some character motivations, and characterizes some of the characters incorrectly.

I don't know about the translation but as far as I know Netflix' doesn't edit anything on their end. If the movie has scenes cut that is most likely how the studio sent it to them.

Yeah, bad phrasing on my part. Whatever version was provided to Netflix was dubtitled (or had a ridiculously bad translation) and was trimmed to the point of seriously borking some character motivations, so I'm a little worried about the quality of the official release.

hmmm, this is looking to be quite confusing as a listing... Both R/S, and Amazon ONLY list a DVD from Ketchup... that is quite reasonably priced.

Meanwhile on Amazon there is an import BluRay/3D 2 disk version already available at a substantial premium. It is supposedly a Region A/1 import via Vii Pillars Entertainment.

It'd be handy if ANN rep might contact Ketchup for clarity... I'd like to buy from the US licensor, rather than import.

OTOH, this is the first hearing of it's release date for me, are they advertizing this, and I missed it?

I hope this is really happening.

Was hoping for more than just DVD since the visuals for this were so good. I'd way rather buy it on blu-ray with the dub and sub than just DVD.

I hope they'll eventually get it up to buy.

Already saw the dub on Netflix. The casting was alright, but they didn't even bother with trying to match the mouth flaps. It's too bad that this isn't getting a stateside Blu-Ray release, the best thing the movie has going for it is the animation.
