Love Live! The Idol School Movie Ends Theatrical Run With 2.86 Billion Yen

The staff of the Love Live! The School Idol Movie anime film revealed on Monday that the film ended its Japanese theatrical run on December 31 after 202 days at the box office, earning a total of 2.86 billion yen (about US$25.1 million).
The film opened on June 13, and it earned 400 million yen (about US$3.24 million) on 121 screens in its first two days. The film eventually ranked at #8 (tied with Billy Gal) on the list of the top grossing domestic films in Japan in 2015.
As of November, the film had sold more than 2 million tickets.
The film earned US$115,840 on 28 theaters in the United States when it played in a limited engagement in September. The film has also screened in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, and Indonesia.
