Inio Asano's Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction manga might be on hiatus again, but fans can get ready for its return this fall with a brand-new figure. Good Smile Company is releasing a "vignette" figure in December and pre-orders are currently open for 18,333 yen (US$166). Characters Kadode Koyama, Ouran Nakagawa, and the in-series manga character Isobeyan are shown precariously balancing on a red robotic vehicle "De".
The figure release also bundles a short manga but Asano.
The series revolves around the strange everyday life of the very ordinary high school girl Kadode Koyama, her friend Ouran Nakagawa, and others in a world where a giant mothership has appeared over Tokyo. Asano launched the series in Big Comic Spirits in April 2014.
The sixth volume of Asano's sci-fi manga was released on May 30 in a regular and limited edition. The limited edition release bundled a t-shirt.
Viz Media has published Asano's previous series Solanin and What a wonderful world!, and is publishing the Goodnight Punpun manga. Fantagraphics Books published Asano's horror manga Nijigahara Holograph in 2014, and Vertical Comics published Asano's A Girl on the Shore manga last year.
Asano launched a new series titled Reiraku in Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior on March 10.
