This year's 15th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine announced on Thursday that Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re manga series have a combined 22 million copies in print.
Viz Media has licensed the Tokyo Ghoul:re sequel series, and it plans to release the manga starting this fall. Viz Media is also releasing the original Tokyo Ghoul manga in English, and it will publish the 12th volume (of 14 total) on April 18.
Ishida serialized Tokyo Ghoul in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump from 2011 to 2014, and is now serializing Tokyo Ghoul:re. Shueisha published the ninth volume of Tokyo Ghoul:re on December 19 and it will release the 10th volume on March 17.
Tokyo Ghoul inspired two anime series, several original video anime projects, PlayStation Vita and smartphone games, and a stage play.
A live-action film adaptation is set to premiere in Japan this summer.
