The June issue of Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine revealed on Saturday that The Severing Crime Edge creator Tatsuhiko Hikagi will launch the tentatively titled Bakemono no Ō (Monster King) manga (pictured at right) in the next issue on June 7. The first chapter will have two color pages and 54 black-and-white pages.
The announcement includes the catchphrase "[Put] fear in all humans!" In the story, Shiori is job hunting when she receives a sudden part-time job offer from a man in front of the station. She gets in a taxi but suddenly starts to feel very sleepy. When she wakes up, she is in an eerie locked room. Can she escape unharmed?
Hikagi ended his The Severing Crime Edge manga in 2015. Kadokawa's BookWalker service has published all 11 volumes of the manga in English digitally.
The series inspired a television anime series in 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video in July 2014.
Update: Added information about The Severing Crime Edge manga's English release. Thanks, Blanchimont.
Update 6/5: Hikagi revealed that the manga's finalized title is Dreadnought.
