Carole & Tuesday Anime Adds 8 Cast Members

The official website for Carole & Tuesday, the new original anime by supervising director Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope, Terror in Resonance) and anime studio BONES, announced eight new cast members for the show on Wednesday. All new cast members appeared in the show's eighth episode later that day. The new cast members include:
Ayane Sakura as Cybelle, a fellow Mars' Brightest contestant and Tuesday's biggest fan
Shintarō Asanuma as the Mermaid Sisters, a chorus group that sings in perfect harmony
Shōzō Iizuka as the Fire Brothers, 99-year-old twins and the oldest contestants in the history of Mars' Brightest
Hiroshi Shirokuma as OG Bulldog, a former gang member and drug dealer
Seiko Tamura as Catherine, a Mars' Brightest judge
Kōji Ochiai as Benito, a Mars' Brightest judge
Hiroyuki Yoshino as Shakti, a Mars' Brightest judge and AI
In addition, the character Pyotr performed a new song "Dance Tonight" by producer and DJ G.RINA, with singer J R Price providing the vocals for the character. Protagonists Carole and Tuesday performed the new song "Whispering My Love" by singer-songwriter Jen Wood.
The anime premiered on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block on April 10. The show also premiered on Netflix that same week in Japan only, with new episodes streaming on Thursdays on Netflix. Netflix has the exclusive worldwide streaming rights to the series, but the anime's website has not announced when the show will start streaming outside of Japan. The series marks the 20th anniversary of BONES and the 10th anniversary of Flying Dog.
Fuji Creative's website is listing the anime with a total of 24 episodes. The anime's staff had previously revealed that the anime would run for two cours (two quarters of a year).

Motonobu Hori is directing the anime, and Tsunenori Saitō (Blast of Tempest, Sword of the Stranger) is designing the characters for animation. Canadian artist Mocky is composing the background music.
The staff also includes Eisaku Kubonouchi (Chocolat, "Hungry Days" commercials) as original character designer, Aya Watanabe (Carnation, Josee, The Tiger and the Fish) as scriptwriter, and Flying Dog as in charge of music production. The anime is collaborating with synthesizer and keyboard brand Nord and guitar maker Gibson.
Composers for the anime include: Jen Wood (This White Light), Maisa Tsuno (Akai Ko-en), Benny Sings, Lido, Evan “Kidd” Bogart, Tim Rice-Oxley (Keane), Eirik Glambek Bøe (Kings of Convenience), Nulbarich, Taku Takahashi, Maika Loubté, G.RINA, Thundercat, Flying Lotus, Alison Wonderland, Mark Redito, Taylor McFerrin, Madison McFerrin, D.A.N., Taro Umebayashi, Steve Aoki, MOGUAI, Andy Platts, and Cornelius. Ann and Nai Br.XX perform both the opening and ending theme songs. Nulbarich wrote and composed the opening theme song "Kiss Me." Benny Sings wrote and composed the ending theme song "Hold Me Now."
