Crunchyroll to Stream Naruto to Boruto The Live 2019 Event

Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will stream the NARUTO to BORUTO THE LIVE 2019 event on Wednesday from 9:00 p.m. EDT to Thursday at 9:00 p.m. EDT. The limited streaming event will be available through the service in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East.

The two-day NARUTO to BORUTO THE LIVE 2019 event was held this past Saturday and Sunday at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture. The event commemorated the 20th anniversary of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga.

The event featured musical performances of the Naruto anime's theme songs by FLOW, KANA-BOON, Game-Jikkyōsha Wakuwaku Band, Little Glee Monster, SNOWKEL, DISH//, and FUJIFABRIC. The event also featured anime cast members' readings of original story episodes. The cast present at the event included Junko Takeuchi (Naruto), Noriaki Sugiyama (Sasuke), Chie Nakamura (Sakura), Nana Mizuki (Hinata), Yūko Sanpei (Boruto), Cocoro Kikuchi (Sarada), Ryūichi Kijima (Mitsuki), and Kenshō Ono (Shikadai).

Animax will air the event as a special in Japan on December 8 at 7:00 p.m. and on December 28 at 12:00 a.m. (effectively December 29).

Kishimoto launched the original Naruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, and ended the manga after 15 years of serialization in November 2014. He then wrote the one-volume sequel manga Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring. Kishimoto also worked on the script and character designs, and served as the chief production supervisor on the Boruto -Naruto the Movie- film sequel. The series has spawned multiple anime, anime film, OVA, and game adaptations. The Naruto Shippūden anime series ended in March 2017.

Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto launched the Boruto sequel manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016. The manga inspired the ongoing television anime series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations that premiered in April 2017.
