“Our Brave Fund” charity contribution to be made via FNS pledge campaign

2006.05.10 (Japanese Release, English Release on 2006-05-15)

GDH K.K. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Shinichirō Ishikawa, Securities Code: TSE Mothers 3755, hereafter GDH) has announced the establishment of a charity enterprise “Our Brave Fund” tied to the release of their theatrical animated feature film Brave Story. The film is produced by GDH group company GONZO K.K. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Managing Director: Koji Kajita, hereafter GONZO) and co-funded by Fuji Television Network, Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Kōichi Murakami, hereafter Fuji Television), Warner Entertainment Japan Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Managing Director: William Ireton), DENTSU K.K. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Tateo Mataki), SKY Perfect Well Think Ltd. Co. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Junichi Watanabe) and GDH. A part of the profit generated from the film, which will be released on July 8 to Shochiku-Tokyu's Theatre circuit, will be donated to the UNICEF foundation in Japan.

Brave Story tells the story of a shy young boy who sets out on a quest in a magical fantasy world to gain a single wish and so mend the broken pieces of his shattered family life. The co-financing producers behind this film have established “Our Brave Fund” to assist underprivileged children from Asian and African nations.

A donation of JPY10 per box office ticket will be made from the co-financing companies profits. This donation will be paid to UNICEF by the administrative agent of the Brave Story enterprise, Fuji Television, via FNS pledge campaign. The donations will be used to assist children infected with HIV and its repercussions in Asian and African nations, particularly children in the Republic of Malawi (an official aid target nation for FNS's 2006 pledge campaign). GDH will be providing updates on the fund, including information on the total amount raised, on the official Brave Story website http://www.bravestory.net/.

As GDH enters the family film market with Brave Story, the firm believes that-in addition to creating engaging animations and striving for continued corporate growth, it is important to give something back to society/children in need. Working with Brave Story's co-financing companies and UNICEF and FNS, GDH believes “Our Brave Fund” achieves this goal.
